Located in the heart of beautiful Brighton just a short 20 minute drive south of Dunedin City.  The Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club has been operating since its establishment in 1937 and has a long and proud history of national competition success.  It is regarded as one of the strongest Southern Regional Clubs and competes with distinction at both regional and national level.

On the popular southern scenic route, Brighton beach is sheltered amongst rocks and regarded as a relatively safe beach in regard to other Dunedin beaches that are more exposed to weather conditions.  It is a great family beach and on hot days it attaches many hundreds of swimmers.  The Brighton Surf Lifesaving patrols are consistently among the best in Otago offering excellent preventative actions with proactive lifeguard practices working to keep swimmers safe.
